Iceland search engine landscape changes in Google's favour

After having built their own crawler for .is URL’s they changed over to Google for WWW results. FINNA also provides a search in the Icelandic companies listings and the National Registry.

The other major player Leit.is, went from an old Inktomi driven database to a new technique developed locally. This crawler is made by a company called Munax.
