More than 3,800 file sharers in HongKong, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland and Argentina are facing criminal charges in this fourth wave of the international crackdown on piracy. The crackdown was initiated by the International Federation of Phonogram and Videogram Producers (IFPI) on behalf of the music recording industry. The 33 in Singapore were warned to stop using file-sharing networks like Gnutella and FastTrack to distribute and download the pirated music.
