Nearly 25% of Internet users in the UK is over the age of 50 and a the latest surveys shoe that the Internet is even more popular than gardening among UK pensioners. A generation in the UK is growing up taking the “always-on” connectivity for granted. For them the Internet is a virtual playground and a place to meet friends, for the parents the Internet is a place to do business. About 33% of all UK consumers have made a purchase online.
