The popularity of blogs in China is evident by the growth of 30 times the number in the last four years. 17.5 million people fancy themselves blog writers while 55 million are regular readers. This comes from the latest report by the government’s China Internet Network Information Center. The Internet and blogs in particular, offers Chinese citizens the only way they can express their opinions since the government controls all or most of the media in China. Blogs cover pop culture, travel, family matters and other subjects. China has the world’s second largest internet market with 123 million users.
