The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Matsushita, Tokyo University and others to jointly develop the image search technology
The electric, the communication and the media industry’s major companies, such as Matsushita Electric, NTT, and NHK, will jointly develop the search technology to retrieve the information from Internet, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the main universities in Japan.
More than 20 companies and universities including, Hitachi, NEC, Fujitsu, Tokyo Institute of Technology, have announced to participate in the project. The organization will be established in December 2005.
METI plans to secure a related budget of several billion yen to run the national project over 3-5 years period from 2007.
