Keynote Systems (Nasdaq “KEYN”) a provider of e-business performance management services will undertake a study of China’s rapidly growing and highly competitive search engine market. The study will evalute Yahoo! China, Baidu, Google China and Sohu/Sogou incorporating 1,200 Chinese Internet users. This is a huge undertaking and the first of its kind, although Keynote has produced 4 studies of the US search engine market. I’m sure the Chinese search engines will be waiting with bated breath to see the results of this study. How they respond will be interesting. More information about this study can be found in the China Search Engine datasheet. Jeff Kraatz, Keynote’s Vice President and Managing Director of Asia Pacific, will be heading to China early next month to brief the media and I hope to get an update when he returns.
