The Italian National Institue of Statistics, Istat, has issued an update on PC and Internet Usage of Italian Population for the current year:
- 41,4% uses a PC (was 40% in 2005)
- 34,1% of population over 6 uses Internet (was 31,8% in 2005)
- 79,7% of PC users are between 15 and 17 years of age
- 7% of PC users are between 65 and 74 years of age
- 43% of PC users reside in central or northern Italy
- 35% of PC users reside in the south
- 37% of Internet users are in central/northern Italy
- 27% of Internet users are in southern Italy

Wow, how do they account for nearly 80% or the PC users being between 15 and 17 years of age? Do you think it has to do with the access to PC’s in the schools and not so many home users? It seems like the growth of PC users is really slow, 1.4%. Sounds like it has leveled off pretty much.
