On the 29th of November this year active domain number 20,000 became real in Iceland. The twist to this is that the 29th of November 2007 is very close to the 20 year birthday of the Internet in Iceland. The year was 1987, late fall, when the father of the Internet in Iceland, Maríus Ólafsson, transfered the first package between two computers located in Iceland through a telephone line. This later became known as the Internet.
