European parliament proposes .kid domain to protect children

The European Parliament has been debating how to protect children on the internet and has come up with the idea of a specific domain for children – .kid – reports Reuters.

The domain would be monitored by an independent authority and the thinking is it would be easy to filter.

Seems that concerns about pornography and children ‘grooming’ outweigh the other concerns about brands marketing to children!
