29% of airline bookings to be made online in Asia

Business Day reports that online travel bookings for airline travel are rising sharply through 2005.

Abacus International of Singapore says that “these figures are encouraging but are by no means the peak.” Internet penetration levels are continuing to rise in the Asia-Pacific region and more travellers are choosing the online route to their tickets – reflecting the tremendous growth of travel in the US and Europe.
