Internet usage trend in holiday season in Japan

“Obon” (Aug 10-16) is one of the biggest holiday season in Japan. More and more people use Internet to obtain leisure related information such as travel booking, attraction, and weather. On the other hand, people are busy with their vacation schedule, and spend less time on the Internet.

According to the research done by Internet.com and goo Research, one out of four people responded that they spent less time on Internet during Obon season.

Q: Did your Internet usage change during the Obon season?

Yes – I didn’t use it at all: 10.72%
Yes – I used it less frequently: 16.56%
Yes – I used it more frequently: 11.01%
No – It didn’t change: 61.71%
