The Icelandic search engine FINNA.is has gone through some changes, being one the of two major players in local search here in Iceland the decided to change from Overture WWW results to Google. After having built their own crawler for .is URL’s they changed over to Google for WWW results. FINNA also provides a search in the Icelandic companies listings and the National Registry.
The other major player Leit.is, went from an old Inktomi driven database to a new technique developed locally. This crawler is made by a company called Munax.
