Japan's top manufactures go global on Internet

Export-Japan’s latest survey results show that more than 70% of Japanese top manufactures have English web site in addition to Japanese site. 1,684 top manufactures in Japan responded to the survey.

Honda offers the most language sites (36 languages) followed by Nissan (33), Sony and Mitsubishi (31 each). The most popular second language is the English followed by Chinese, German and French. Only 10% of participating companies had sites in languages other than Japanese and English.

I was surprised to see that many of the companies didn’t have sites in Spanish or Korean. Perhaps, we’ll see a different results with other industries such as tourism or education.
