I just saw an interesting data of mobile sites access in Japan (by BeTrend). It shows that Japanese access mobile sites the most on Thursday of the week, and from 9pm to midnight of the day. It’s a well known fact that people browse mobile sites on their spare time, and it’s no surprise that the access peaks between 9pm and midnight. But, why Thursday? The analyst of BeTrend points out that many companies now distribute e-mails advertising their weekend specials, sales, etc. on Thursday evening, and that would be one of the reasons for more mobile users to access the sites on Thursday.
By the way, I hate having to print out coupons even when it’s a great deal. Many businesses in Japan now accept the deals by showing the coupon (e-mail with coupon) on cell phone without printing it out. I hope this service comes to this side of the Pacific ocean soon!
