New search engine in Sweden – Sesam.se

Sesam.se is a new search engine in Sweden that is launched by Schibstedt. Interrestingly enough they are trying to go up against Google and MSN to become the best local search engine. Their strategy is to work more with pics and more vertical searches. In the begining they will use the sponsored links from Yahoo, but nobody knows how long that will last…

  1. I think “home grown” search engines have a chance against the big boys but might not have enough capital to sustain the kind of growth they need. I like the idea of more vertical searches and if they can get their own ad network going and not have to share revenue with Yahoo that might help.
