China search engine Zhongsou.com sued by Chinese netizen

Sun Zhongpeng, a member of the China Anti-Hooligan Software Alliance, is suing Zhongsou.com which claims to be the world’s largest Chinese language search engine. The law suit was heard in the People’s Court in Beijing’s Haidian District on October 28th. A verdict has not been reached.

Sun says he downloaded and installed the Internet phone software, “IGphone” developed by Zhongsou.com, which included malicious software called “Internet Pig”. He went on to say that he could not uninstall the softwared completely. He is demanding an apology from Zhongsou and compensation.

Zhongsou.com answered that Sun willingly downloaded the software “Internet Pig” when he agreed to install “IGphone”. They also said that the software can be uninstalled completely.
